The Wadsworth Athenaeum Theater must be added to the wealth of Hartford's great movie venues. Managing Director, Deborah Claudet, offers a thoughtful range of international films, often in a series type format.

A typical screening includes an introduction and commentary by Ms. Claudet or a guest speaker and a post film discussion.

This cozy theater features fabulous murals and comfortable seating. Popcorn and candy are available in the lobby.

Aside from the wonderful films shown here, I have precious memories of the theater that hosted the last several of my father's dance recitals and the place where I did my last serious tap-dancing, so many years ago.
