TUVALU 1999
Silent
(except for a few German utterances)

A fable. A Masterpiece. Imagine a son (Buster Keatonesque character) with the help of his mother, making luscious sound effects of splashing and cavorting in their decaying opulent Baverian Turkish Bath in a tireless effort to dupe and thus bring pleasure to his blind despotic father! Add a beautiful girl, the object of the son's heart and pelvis, swimming nude in the decaying marble pool with a goldfish in a glass bowl. This is just a hint at some of the fabulous images of this great, nearly silent film.

Denis Lavant (Les Amants du Pont-Neuf), Chulpan Hamatova (Luna Papa), Philippe Clay (French Cancan), EJ Callahan (Wild Wild West): directed by Veit Helmer
